What we collect

gapfeed collects two types of data:

Public signal data. We scan publicly available sources (Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Overflow, Dev.to, YouTube, GitHub, Google News) to find pain signals and market gaps. This data is already public. We cluster and analyze it.

Visitor analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people use gapfeed. This includes pages visited and time on page, referral source, device type and browser, approximate geographic region, and search queries typed on the site.

We do not collect names, emails, or any personally identifiable information unless you explicitly provide it.

Cookies

We use cookies for Google Analytics (third-party, you can opt out) and local preferences (first-party, stored in your browser only).

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers beyond Google Analytics.

How we use the data

Collected data is used to identify and rank market gaps, improve the gapfeed experience, understand which gaps are most popular, and detect and fix technical issues.

We do not sell personal data. Aggregated, anonymized data may be displayed on the site or shared publicly.

Third-party services

We use Google Analytics (website analytics), IONOS (hosting), and OpenRouter (language model inference for gap classification).

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we collect, opt out of Google Analytics, request deletion of associated data, and use browser settings to block cookies.

Since we don't collect personal accounts, most visitor data is anonymous and can't be linked to an individual.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as our data practices evolve. Continued use of gapfeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
